Περίληψη: |
Hans Arp's (1886-1966) language of forms revolutionized the way people thought about the medium of sculpture. His sculptural work alludes to neither nature nor fantasy, but instead allows imaginary images to appear in an open process. Hans Arp's great art historical significance has been overshadowed in recent years by discussions about the correct handling of posthumous casts. Arie Hartog and Kai Fischer from the Gerhard-Marcks-Haus in Bremen have assembled the information available on Arp's body of sculptural work and thus present an important step toward clearing up the debate. This publication draws together all of the authenticated examples of each of Arp's known sculptures and brings their respective status up to date. An introductory essay describes the development of Hans Arp's oeuvre. |
